USB to Serial (RS232) Drive Repair Tool

What is this tool for?

This tool enables serial communication between the drive and the computer. This is a primitive method and allows some diagnostics and fixes to be done for the drive. This tool can be used to fix the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 firmware brick issue, it can also be used to clear the S.M.A.R.T. data on various other Seagate models, allowing the drive to be detectable again.

When is the tool needed?

1) The drive is made by Seagate, with a 4 pin serial port like the picture above

2) The drive motor spins up properly

3) The drive makes NO strange noises

4) The drive is NOT detected by BIOS, or is detected as 0GB

5) Note currently this kit only works on Windows computers
